BIOGRAPHY
Born in Detroit, Michigan and raised by his grandmother in the city of Highland Park; Damon Terrell's instrument of choice was the guitar of which he began playing in his late teens. Hungry for more he also began teaching himself piano. Now with two instruments under his belt, multi-talented and self taught, Damon Terrell also enjoys playing drums as well as the bass guitar. His musical influences include Peter White, Christina Brown, Yanni and George Winston. In his early twenties is when he started to seriously compose his own music. He developed a style of his own by combining different genres of music. Intertwining blues, rock, jazz and classical, he brings a fresh new approach of instrumentation to the world of music. His background start includes playing in local bands around the city of Detroit. When branching off on his own he played the keyboard at various coffee houses in Metro Detroit and the suburban areas. In recent years he has held music leadership positions in the Music department at two church locations, one in Detroit and later in Romulus. Today Inspirational Jazz Artist, Damon Terrell launched his solo career in 2007 wowing crowds everywhere. He is a great performer with a powerful performance making him a "Must See" musician. He has performed at venues such as, Campus Martius, Hart Plaza, Chene Park, Music Hall, the Detroit Princess River Boat and Greektown Casino to name a few. He is a new musical influence, a legend on the rise and his fan base is ever growing. Damon Terrell and his music are truly a joy to life.
